The time has come for the trio's annual summer holiday, and Father Ted has a fellow priest's caravan in mind as a perfect location. With the parochial house falling apart, Ted decides it's time to raise some money, and it seems that a raffle is the best way to do it. Pulling in a favour from Bishop Brennan, he secures a car as the top prize When a nearby relic has its importance upgraded by the church, a group of bishops pay visit to the island. The arrival of rebellious young priest Father Damien Lennon coincides with the theft of a whistle belonging to Mr Benson, the picnic area supervisor. Suspicion, however, falls upon Ted. Ted and Dougal plan to enter Eurosong , borrowing the music from a s entry's long-forgotten B-side.

The series is set on the fictional Craggy Island off the coast of Ireland and is about three Roman Catholic priests and their housekeeper. During the course of the programme, 25 episodes of Father Ted aired over three series, between 21 April and 1 May A television programme offers to interview Father Ted, who goes to extreme lengths to ensure the other members of the clergy on the island do not interrupt his moment in the spotlight. Ted takes the film crew to the fair, leading to a massive mess. Ted and Dougal are devastated as an inoffensive but unbearably boring priest, Father Stone, arrives on Craggy Island for his annual visit. Ted prays for Father Stone to be taken away, but is later wracked with guilt when Father Stone is struck by lightning. Bishop Leonard Brennan arrives at the parochial house on an official visit with news that a blasphemous film, condemned by the pope and banned everywhere, is being shown in Craggy Island thanks to a loophole. He orders the priests to make a stand and protest at the cinema, but they discover secrets about the Bishop's past. Special guest star: Jim Norton as Bishop Brennan. Meanwhile, television celebrity Henry Sellers stays at the house.
