Anne's Feather Art P. Box Alva, Fl I grew up in the incredible Florida keys. As I was growing up, I spent a great deal of time boating, snorkeling and diving our beautiful reefs. Drawing and painting caught my interest when I was 5.

Feathers can be a perfect canvas for any artist. Not only are the feathers themselves beautiful, they offer a blank slate for an infinite number of paintings. In this Instructable we go over the basic steps of painting on a feather, with numerous tips and pointers along the way. These steps can be applied to nearly any image, real or imagined. The most important part of this project is, of course, the feather! Here I have an example of two types of feathers that could work well. Both real or fake feathers can work well, although real feathers give a much more natural look.

Feathers remind us to walk through life with a high spirit and a sense of liberty while also keeping a track of when we need to change the direction we are heading to. Having an eye-catching watercolor painting of feathers at your home can certainly be a source of daily inspiration for you. In its own sweet time, this blue feather falling from the sky will be at rest upon the earth.
