The Omega Ruins are where you will find some of the most difficult fiends to fight in the game including Great Malboros and Tonberrys. Make sure you prepare yourself by equipping at least one of your characters with armor that can prevent or ward Petrification either the Stone Ward or Stoneproof auto-ability. You should also make sure that you have a weapon with the First Strike auto-ability. Read the section below for more information on how to obtain it and then read the information window below for more information on how to defeat a Great Malboro:. First Strike Weapon Auto-Ability Customizing one of your weapons with the First Strike auto ability to ensure that your characters get the first attack in battle. Great Malboros will always ambush you when they encounter them. The best way to defeat them is to have one character equipped with the First Strike auto-ability.

You know how when you're descending to fight Omega you have to fight a monster on each platform? Well, I discovered, because I backtracked to save before fighting Omega, that they reset when you return to this area. I was just wondering if this will continue even after I beat Omega because it seems the "rarer" monsters spawn in these encounters. I'm wondering for the sake of monster capturing.

As one would expect, being a hidden dungeon, Omega Ruins has the top normal enemies in the game. For the most part, its unique enemies are top-end versions of smaller fiends, while it also gets some of the fiends from Inside Sin. In any event, especially if your characters haven't completed much more than their own Sphere Grid segments, you'll need to be careful; the area is by no means impossible but accurate play is required. The dungeon is divided into two areas: the Main Ruins , which is the first room in the dungeon, and the Upper Ruins. This section is divided in that same way, but first we need to take a look at the fiends. As mentioned in the intro, Omega Ruins contains some very powerful fiends who will wipe the floor with your pyreflies if you're not careful. That being said, all the enemies in here are doable without "cheese" strats, so if your characters have completed their own Sphere Grids, you should be able to survive with correct play, though you might want to stay near the Save Sphere at the entrance to avoid losing progress. Because of its length, the discussion here is divided into two parts: a detailed discussion , and a shorter summary at the end.

Head inside…. Rather maze-like, like Inside Sin , this place must be mapped by the player. Obtaining the game's Celestial Weapons are also recommended to deal maximum damage at every turn, but this isn't a requirement. I remember visiting that area both before and after Omega to collect the Magic Sphere , and I only ever had the one fixed encounter per platform. This is easier to do if you have armor with the No Encounters ability equipped. The pathway to the left leads to a Friend Sphere after two encounters and the pathway to the right leads to Omega Weapon.
