P underwing national insignia? By Cobrahistorian , August 21, in Props. Trying to figure out exactly when the double national insignia under ETO P wings was ordered and how long it lasted. I haven't been able to locate any orders for it, but it seems to have come into use in early I don't believe I've seen any pictures of 9th AF Jugs wearing stars under the left wing. Others may know more, but I don't think I've even seen any shots showing enlarged stars under the right wing, either, onl standars size. Does seem odd, considering their prime missions were low level. May have figured the Invasion stripes sufficient. Hal Sr. I've seen evidence of some 9th AF birds wearing them very early in the ETO period April 44 , but very little after that. Unfortunately none of the th FS shots I've got show the wing undersides. My hunch is, the plane I'm building didn't have it, but I just want to be sure!
