Lucker left the series halfway through series four, and returned midway through the next series, by which time the series' ratings had fallen significantly. The series was cancelled in A number of celebrities made cameo appearances in the series, appearing as themselves. The part of Tanya Turner was originally named Tansy. From series three onward, stadium scenes were filmed at the original White Hart Lane , former now demolished home of Tottenham Hotspur. Series one was shown between 8 January and 26 February with eight episodes. The series follows a group of footballers' wives whose husbands play for Earls Park nicknamed "Sparks". Ian Walmsley, Sparks' latest signing, deals with his up-and-coming success. His wife Donna is more concerned with getting their son back from the woman who adopted him after her parents forced her to give him up when she was a teenager. In the final episode, their 8-year-old daughter Holly is kidnapped. Donna's younger sister causes trouble while staying with them.

Discovering that Frank is broke, Tanya sets her sights on Conrad, which results in a cat fight with Amber.

The first and second series each include eight episodes. The third comprises nine episodes, one of which is 90 minutes long. The fourth series also comprises nine episodes, two of which are 90 minutes long. The fifth and final series includes eight episodes, and the series premiere and finale are 90 minutes long. Typical episodes have a running time of approximately 45 minutes. The Sport Relief special aired on Saturday 15 July.

Jason and his wife Tanya worry about their future when Earls Park announce a new signing - Italian midfielder, Salvatore Biagi, who is a serious threat to Jason's first team place. Drama Sport. The series follows a group of footballers' wives whose husbands play for Earls Park nicknamed "Sparks". When Callum makes a pass at Tanya, she laughs it off but Paolo's jealous streak soars out of control and he trashes the house. Depressed and lonely after discovering that Donna has gone back to Ian, Sal falls into the arms of Stefan's deranged daughter, Freddie. To celebrate, she hosts a Brazilian fiesta. Tanya and Conrad become acquainted, and Jason's murderer is revealed. She left the series last time though but let's hope that she'll appear in the next one. Harley's girlfriend Shannon joins him in London, but soon finds her face doesn't fit and visits a plastic surgeon. Amber is then sectioned and sent to a mental institution for bleeding on the brain. Jason is stopped by the police after he tries to force Sal's car off the road. Freddie tries to make Sal jealous by going on a date with Jason. The series begins with Chardonnay's funeral following her death from anorexia.
