It's a lot of work for summut to use in the odd snowy conditions, plus it's gonna be pretty crap unless ya really spend out for the right ice racing gear like tyres and such. Isn't there a 4wd mk1 with subaru impreza running gear floating around somewhere?

A tunnel for the drive shaft would be needed and the whole rear end would need altering to house a diff, and change from solid rear axle to independent rear suspension to allow room for rear drive shafts. I've seen mitsi colts altered to fit early evo engines and awd drivetrain but most have been done by people well experienced in fabrication. I'd think you'd be kissing the best part of 20k plus to do this and for that sort of money you'd be better of selling your fist and buying a wrx or evo imo. Or whether they can handle the 1.
