After the season was originally scheduled to be held in January and February of the year in the Middle East, this schedule then became the first season of the newly founded Formula Regional Middle East Championship. The five-stop season also includes two rounds apiece at the Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit, and gets underway with a pre-season test in Dubai on January In addition, the series will support the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November this year with a non-championship race. With no fewer than 28 expressions of interest already lodged with organizers, indications point to a record F4 UAE season. That frees up the FRAC name to be used in eastern Asia, where that series had originally been based, which is what its promoter is planning.
