There's also a weekly market down at the Marina that's quite nice. Any of the beaches north of San Francisco San Pancho are nice and will be a lot quieter than Sayulita which is something of a surfing mecca and can be quite crowded around midday with day trippers streaming in. A particular favorite of ours was Playa Chacala about an hour north. It's one of the prettiest, quietest and most relaxing places along the coast - you can easily while away a full day there.

We arrive on Saturday the 13th and staying for a week. Our friends booked the Plaza Pelicanos Club and we were able to get the same week off so decided to join them. I'm more looking forward to seeing my friends and not as concerned with a luxury all inclusive hotel which I am sure this place is not. I know there are some reviews at both extremes and lots of first time one post contributions which I tend to ignore. I know the hotel is small, basic and not many dining options which doesn't really bother me. I have always been able to find something to eat at a buffet and there is a menu I believe for breakfast and dinner if you ask nicely. I'm fine with eating off site and exploring the town also.
