Since the first scene of the very first episode of One Punch Man, it has been made clear that Saitama is a character on a level that simply can't be reached by anyone else. Being gifted with such overwhelming strength, he can defeat any of his enemies with just one punch, no matter how powerful these enemies may be. This is most apparent in One Punch Man season 1, episode 12, "The Strongest Hero", where he faced off against Lord Boros , an alien pirate who could have easily made light work of any other hero in the entire Association. However, it just took one serious punch by Saitama to kill him. Fast forward to the Monster Association arc, where we see Garou gradually growing in strength to the point where he could single-handedly take down Dragon Level threats.

Beware of spoilers. Spoiler Policy forbids the use of spoiler tags in the pre-examples description, or to hide trope names. It's such a tragedy. Then I won't lose to anyone. I will become the strongest monster ever and change this scenario. He was formerly Bang's pupil, and his talent as a martial artist is tremendous, making him a serious threat to the Hero Association. A — H Above Good and Evil : While reflecting his past, at the end Garou says how he rejects the idea of "good" and "evil". And screw evil too. I'm gonna be killed because that's what everyone else wants?! It's not fair! I can't stand it! It pisses me off!

It is this reason Psykos chooses him to succeed Orochi as her right-hand, noting he possesses talent beyond even the Monster King's. However, even this fell short as Saitama's rate of garou one punch and power simply could not be matched, leading to Garou's defeat.

The recent return of Garou in the One-Punch Man manga confirms that the ending of his personal arc in the story was incredibly compelling and satisfying. After a long journey that saw him go from renegade Hero Hunter to the biggest threat that planet Earth and Saitama ever faced, Garou's story arc received a resolution that perfectly suits the character and also opened the way for interesting developments in the future of the series. Despite being a villain, Garou was featured so prominently in the series that he could be considered Saitama's co-protagonist. Showing a natural talent for martial arts, once a pupil of Rank 3 hero Bang, Garou fled his dojo after defeating his fellow students and stealing secret techniques. Garou then became One-Punch Man's "Hero Hunter," challenging and defeating heroes while honing his skills. After getting recruited by the Monster Association, Garou was defeated by Orochi and experienced a process called "semi-monsterification," which gave him powers and abilities beyond a human's reach.

Garou one punch

As a child, Garou was unpopular and a social outcast. At school, while he was reading a book, a popular boy named Tacchan and another student were playing heroes , after Garou tried to make Tacchan realize it was dangerous to kick another student from high ground, Tacchan declared Garou to be the new villain and himself as Justice Man. He tried to kick Garou, Garou dodged, but after Tacchan missed and hurt himself, to which Garou apologizes. Tacchan asked him what was he doing, pointed out that Garou was the monster, and then kicked him in the face while making others kids to restrain him.

This just makes him disappointed that Saitama's strength is unfair , so he just resolves to become a "unfair Evil" in order to stand against him and he returns in a bigger form. Since his defeat at the hands of Orochi, Garou's strength would grow so exponentially that he became a powerhouse that was soon defeating the very top-level heroes of the S-Class as well as the toughest Dragon Level threats of the monster cadres. Adaptational Badass : In the manga, his Monster form serves the same role as the Webcomic's Awakened form, merely being an upgrade of his base abilities and physical mutations. This passive ability makes him a threat to all life on Earth. Even later, after emerging from underground, Garou, in his further monsterized state, was capable of overcoming many battles against powerful opponents such as Bomb , [] Silver Fang , [] [] [] Platinum Sperm , [] and then Sage Centipede , [] [] [] in quick succession and with no rest in between. Upon seeing him still retaining part of his personality, Blast remarks that although Garou's mutation is extreme, he still has not taken a full blessing of power from "God". Ambiguously Human : Tank-Top Master during his fight with him and pretty much everyone else asks themselves if Garou is really human at all, questioning wether it should be moral or not to kill him. In the original webcomic , when Garou emerges from underground, the sides of his hair have transformed into horns and his clothes have seemingly fused with his body. His body absorbs black matter from the air to close any wound and manifests on his body as a spiraling black mark. Furthermore, in this state, by copying his strength level, Garou is able to make his own punches as strong as Saitama's. Even his Healing Factor only helps so much, as he's often continuing the fight even as it's in the process of working its magic. Not only is he a category above the entire S-Class heroes, but his abilities went to the point that he could block literal light-speed punches, and cuts that could split atoms, by evolving god-like abilities in martial arts. Granted, before that the guy was unable to get a decent meal for at least over a day. After becoming influenced by " God ", Garou reverts into a physique more similar to that of his original monsterization form, but with featureless void filled with stars , galaxies and nebulas over his body as it is surrounded by a dark bluish aura.

Genos returns to Dr. Kuseno with parts from G4 , asking Dr.

You may defeat me, but can you handle it?! This passive ability makes him a threat to all life on Earth. Garou has an important moral mission he is determined to accomplish, while Saitama is just a hero for fun. While they are barely alluded to at all in the webcomic barring a brief mention of Garou's father in his backstory , it's implied several times in the manga that Garou's parents don't care for him and in post-note of Chapter he's mother wasn't a kind person. Accelerated Development : Garou's main attribute; in his first appearance at the Hero Association headquarters, the human monster admits that S-Class heroes would be too much for him to handle. It's such a tragedy. He gains a new awakening form in "Cosmic Fear Mode" which is capable of manipulating the forces of the universe and of copying Saitama's strength through "modes". As long as evil exists in the world, there needs to be good as well, and the only way that an absolute good can exist is for an absolute evil to simultaneously exist. The result is that he can mimic any style with his knowledge of the fundamental flow of all energy and the behaviour of all forces in the universe. This is seen when fighting Superalloy Darkshine; when he begins attacking the hero's ears, he recalls moments when he and Tareo were bullied in a similar fashion and stops his attack. Saitama slowly challenges his worldview in the webcomic by bringing up the fact that he's a good person who basically went with a half-hearted monster hobby because he lacked the conviction to be a hero, to be the change he really wanted to see in the world. Garou eventually does reach a point where he surpasses all the S-Ranked heroes, but he is still ultimately defeated by Saitama. This form was able to use every single move as before and could level a mountain with his "Massive Fa Jin" attack, but was still defeated by Saitama. Nonetheless, his already incredible power reaches even more preposterous levels while in this form, capable of combating unbelievably powerful fighters such as the top-ranking S-Class hero Blast, and even Saitama. He just kept evolving into stronger and stronger monster forms, but his mind was basically deteriorating in exchange for brute force.
