She studied and started her career in the Philippines, and joined our Trust in She worked as a band 5 for almost 3 years until last January her health took a downturn. Ella started losing weight, complaining of abdominal pain, repeated fever episodes and unable to tolerate food.

Ella is 13 years old and was living her everyday life when she got the devastating news that she has been diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Ella is in her first year of high school and had her whole life ahead of her and whilst this still may be true she now has the biggest battle to fight. Ella will now need to miss initially the next 2 years of schooling trying to fight this illness. Ella is the daughter of one of the kindest hearted women we know Rima Hafda. Recently divorced and a mother of 4 beautiful girls. With her own mother battling dementia Rima doesn't have the support from her mother. She has now been forced to quit her job the only one that was supporting Ella and her 3 sisters. First and foremost Rima has requested for your duaa and prayers for Ella and if you would like to help further your donations will help with travel and ongoing financial support for the family for the next two years or so. Ella has White-Sutton syndrome, which is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder, this along with Epilepsy, means it takes two people to lift her safely; Ella also requires bigger and better wheel chairs, sensory equipment, and mobility Aids. White-Sutton syndrome is characterized by a wide spectrum of cognitive dysfunctions and developmental delays. Ella was born in September , it was known to her parents in pregnancy there may be complications and when she was born she spent the first month of her life in special care unable to feed at all and was referred for various genetic testing. She then began to have severe seizures and was diagnosed with Epilepsy. The genetic test findings came back in diagnosing her with White-Sutton syndrome.

For a multitude of reasons, the past two months have been extremely challenging, and for a long time we have been unsure of what the future looks like for Ella, and unsure what to tell you as a result. What we can now say, is that Ella has been discharged from the hospital, and finally in her home setting we are able to see how far she has come. She is walking without aids, living independently, and even talking about going back to work! She still has a long journey ahead of her, however in contrast to where she was exactly three months ago at the time of writing this update, it feels like nothing will stop her. Other family and friends who had come over to visit were asking if she was alright. We then took her to emergency and they found nothing, putting it down to premature breathing.
