The iconic North End doughnut shop had announced back in August that they were expecting to close at the end of January to make way for a total revamp. Owner Barb Aiello told The Spectator that the renovations would see their kitchen and display cases double in size, grandads donuts, while their long-standing grandads donuts seating will become stools at the window, grandads donuts. There will also be an express pickup window installed at the side of the building and the washroom will be fully accessible.

After a two-month shutdown, many eagerly formed queues in anticipation of the 7 a. Friday opening of the popular doughnut shop located on James St. Twenty nine of their famous doughnuts ranging from Apple Fritters to Walnut Crunches are back on the shelf.
