We just re-did our master bath where the two shower walls adjoining the door, which I originally thought would be all-glass, ended up being half walls with glass above -- and I don't think it adversely affects the look we were going for nor the amount of light in the room at all. I think your latest drawing, with the towel warmer next to the window is your best alternative if you want to keep all that glass around the shower. And because the shower door is glass all the way down, you still get a sense of openness, and all the light coming through your two windows. Electric heaters are not all that efficient when it comes to power usage, will you have a noticeable jump in your power bill, maybe a dollar or two, not that big a deal, but again, IMHO, not worth the expense or hassles of having a heated towel bar.
