I really wanted to create this adorable chicken basket. This chicken basket is just too cute and the perfect accompaniment to any country kitchen. It is a simple sewing project that anyone with basic sewing skills can make. There is both machine and hand sewing in this project so you will have to get out your needle and thread. This is a good time to brush up on your ladder stitching skills. I will include a video on how to do ladder stitch if you are not familiar with that stitch. I used quilting cotton and fusible fleece to create my chicken basket.
Hen basket pattern
The basket is shaped like a hen and is a decorative idea for Easter. The hen is crocheted with 4 mm hook, or with the size of hook you need to match the crochet tension. Always observe the crochet tension! Please note that the amount of yarn is adapted to the crochet weight. If you crochet looser or tighter than indicated in the pattern, your yarn consumption may vary. It will also affect the size of the final project. Therefore, be very careful to match the crochet weight. The kit contains yarn for the model shown. The items will be added to the shopping cart and can be edited before ordering. The pattern uses leftover yarn from the colours medium brown and white. These two colours are not included in the kit. The pattern is NOT included physically!
Add the lining to the outer pieces Stitched chicken body Stitch the bottom Step 7: Add the Beak, comb and waddle Place the beak, hen basket pattern, comb and waddle to their corresponding places on one of the body pieces on the lining side using the flat part of the fabric that you left when you created them. Fuse the fleece Step 6: Stitch the lining to the outer pieces With right sides together stitch each body piece and the bottom to its corresponding lining piece leaving a small hen basket pattern for turning.
