Started by I like pie , October 23, I just had an unusual sale from my Ebay account for a slab from who appears to be the VP of Heritage. Is this something they typically do? Buy books on the bay and flip them through their auctions? Can't speak to that particular person but many of the people who work at Heritage are also fans and collectors. The head of Movie posters at the Texas location has bought comics from me many times and a few of the people who work at the Bev Hills branch in LA have bid on art or music ephemera. Doubt it has much to do with flipping and more to do with being stoked on the same things you are.
For decades, the books were kept safe by the brother who vowed to keep watch over the comics should anything happen to his sibling on the battlefield. Hence its moniker, proof of a promise kept. I am honored and thrilled Heritage was selected to represent the collection. Each is the very best-known issue for each title, like almost every other discovery in The Promise Collection. Each box we open contains more and more treasures from the Golden Age of comic books, comics that I only previously dreamed I would come across in near-mint to mint condition. For a long, long time The Promise Collection was just a cache of comics in an attic, treasures stored in chests made of cardboard.

This was, by far, the most successful comics auction ever held. The four-day event was, in every sense, a tale to astonish: Nearly 6, bidders from around the world participated in the auction. The final number was split almost evenly between comic books and original art. Three months later they came prepared to go to the mat for the exceptional items, of which there were many. Some were just waiting for the right time to sell, and the results confirm that their timing was impeccable. It was also the second-highest price ever paid for a non-Golden Age comic.
