Hillgrunds tomb
Within the antechamber of Hillgrund's Tombyou'll encounter a Nord named Golldir. He explains that a necromancer named Vals Veran is inside his ancestral barrow, defiling it. His aunt Agna went in to put a stop to this, but Golldir was too scared to hillgrunds tomb with her. Hillgrunds tomb
Hillgrund's Tomb is a small Nordic ruin where Golldir 's dead ancestors are interred. The barrow is located south-southeast of Valtheim Towers and southwest of Windhelm. It has an exterior area and one interior zone: Hillgrund's Tomb. It is technically located in The Pale , although this makes no geographical sense see bugs. The path up to the barrow is at the west end of a bridge over a large tributary of the White River , near its confluence with the Darkwater River. Walking up the steps of the path, you'll pass under numerous stone arches before arriving at the tomb entrance, where Golldir fights an internal battle between fear and family honor. There is a fire pit in the center of the room, with sideboards on either side of a locked iron door key required leading into the barrow itself. The sideboards hold three salt piles , a bowl of bone meal , a potion of minor healing , and four common books. In the eastern corner of the antechamber is a frostbite spider egg sac. A level-dependent locked chest can be found behind the tomb's entrance, up against the cliff that overlooks the barrow. Just a few feet east of the chest, on the ground, is a large coin purse. Golldir will approach and ask for your help. Once you agree to help, he will unlock the door to allow access inside.

This mission can only be acquired through exploration. The ruins can be found on the mountainside just north of the bridge just off the cobblestone road. Head up the mountain on the stone stairwells going through the arches and enter the ruins. Speak to Golldir in the entry. The ancient tomb houses the remains of his ancestors and an evil necromancer named Vals Veran has been desecrating their tombs. His aunt has entered the crypt and she hasn't returned. He needs your help. Agree to help to activate the mission. He will unlock the tomb and he will accompany you in as you lead the way down into the crypt.

The tomb is very linear and any offshoots are only small, dead-end rooms. The quest throughout this area is a lot of fun, and, at times, emotional. The chamber has several levels to it, so use this to your advantage once the battle begins, The necromancer approaches, and, after a short conversation I won't spoil it , the battle ensues. No account yet? After you exit the tomb you can speak to Golldir again if he's alive about becoming a follower. There is a set of shelves to the east holding a bow and some ancient Nord arrows. Pulling the chain will punch out the cover to an upright sarcophagus to the east, revealing the way forward. If Golldir is with you, he will object to you looting his family's tomb, but then sigh and ultimately agree to you helping yourself as long as you help put a stop to Vals Veran. Whether you try to talk to him, attack him, or let him finish his speech, he will eventually disappear and teleport across the room. Beyond the chest is the barred door leading to the room in which Aunt Agna's body was found. The barrow is located south-southeast of Valtheim Towers and southwest of Windhelm. It is not possible to un-complete i. Around the corner is a mead barrel and three dead draugr in small holes in the wall, two of which can be looted.

The bear is on the corner of a wall to the south, with a lit brazier and a chain hanging down beside it. Through the door to the north is another catacomb. The setting has changed from a dusty tomb to a damp, musty crypt; moss covers everything, and roots protrude from the walls. I exit the chamber through the iron doors and find an iron chest. Attacking one will alert the second, unless you have a sufficiently high sneak skill. Among the cave-in rubble is an unlocked chest. To the right of the bear symbol is an alcove with a selection of growing fungi, including bleeding crown , white cap , and fly amanita. Through the barred door, you are led back to the room where Agna's body was found. I've agreed to help Golldir protect his ancestral tomb from the warlock, Vals Veran. There is no chance of successfully rescuing Aunt Agna; at the bottom of the room you'll find her corpse. Before leaving I say my last goodbye to Faendal and close the door to the chamber. There is a closed wooden door on the right, with a few red apples and several bottles of alto wine and wine in front of the door. Behind the door is a small alcove containing a large urn, behind which are six small holes in the wall. Further down the corridor is another wooden door. Beyond this doorway is a narrow flight of stairs leading down to a corridor that continues down several flights of stairs to the southeast.
