Simon Amstell's Grandma's House let its surreal, borderline-fictional personality crisis play out in a single house. Rev did manage to venture outside, him and her sitcom, but didn't exactly scream "big budget action adventure". The show's premise is simple: a young unemployed couple living in a bedsit and trying to avoid engaging with the outside world.

Russell Tovey plays Steve, a laddish man with no desire to seek employment in Stefan Golaszweski 's comedy about what really goes on behind the bedroom doors of today's somethings. Surviving on benefits, Steve has no dreams and no goals He has no interest in any issues beyond eating, sleeping, drinking and having sex. Sarah Solemani plays Becky, a ladette with no desire to seek employment. Popular, true to her friends and always first to hit the dance floor when clubbing with the girls, Becky is sarcastic sometimes to the point of meanness. She sees straight through Steve but is sometimes completely unable to understand the weird self-obsession of men. This acutely-observed, forensically honest, warts-and-all comedy looks at this couple in their mid-twenties and the minutiae of their relationship. In the second series Becky and Steve's relationship blossoms above the nitty gritty of living together, but there's trouble on the horizon. In Series 3, Steve struggles to find the courage - and the right moment - to propose to Becky, much to Laura's horror and outrage. Each episode follows a different stage of the day. With Becky as chief bridesmaid and Steve as best man, from the early morning wake up call, through the ceremony and the speeches, to the drunken mess of the late night disco, we watch the wedding in real time in all its glory.
