Hinoxes
Hinox are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.
While exploring Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , you will eventually come across a species of cyclops bosses called a Hinox. These ogre-like bosses are often found sleeping and only awaken once Link gets too close. While you can avoid these boss fights, beating them yields powerful monster parts and other ingredients that Link can use later. You can stun Hinoxes by shooting an arrow into their eyes; however, they still require a bit of dexterity when battling them. Although Black Hinoxes are the rarest type of Hinox in the game, they drop the strongest and most potent monster parts that can be used as Fuse materials in Zelda: TOTK. There are a total of 40 Hinox locations on the surface of Hyrule, varying in size and color.
Hinoxes
Hinox in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can appear in various locations, and in total there are more than 60 in the game 67, to be precise. Hinox also have different tiers that can be encountered: regular, blue, and black. Curiously, there aren't any Silver Hinox in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , nor are there different tiers of Stalnox, the skeletal version. The strategy to kill a Hinox is almost the same as the Stalnox — for both bosses, fire an arrow at its eye, then attack while it is stunned. Stalnox eyes will pop out eventually and must be attacked again to stop the Stalnox from reforming. If Link hunts down and defeats every Hinox in Tears of the Kingdom , he gets a nifty little reward: the Hinox medal, which is a whole lot nicer than Hestu's Gift at the least. Hinox encountered on the surface of Hyrule will often be sleeping. In fact, almost all Hinox or Stalnox Link encounters in Tears of the Kingdom are prone when discovered: regular Hinox tend to be laying down, making gutteral belly noises, while the bones of a Stalnox tend to lay still until an unlucky adventurer stumbles on them. Tulin's auto-aiming bow-and-arrow attacks can do wonders to proc the Hinox stun over and over again, as their eye is their weak spot and can be hard to aim when Link spends most of the fight at the Hinox's feet. In total, there are 29 regular Hinox that Link can find on the surface of Hyrule. Hinox in the depths don't fight any differently than their surface counterparts, but the Gloom-based attacks will take away Link's Max Hearts. These Hearts don't come back until he either consumes Sundelion food or visits a Lightroot or heads back to the surface to bathe in the sun's natural rays. In total, there are 18 Hinox in the Depths.
However, hinoxes, be careful when approaching Hinoxes in the depths as they are hinoxes with Gloom, making them even harder to beat than normal Hinozes. Once awake, hinoxes, they will use physical attacks such as swipes and punches and pull up nearby Trees hinoxes order to toss them at Link. These bone structured enemies battle similarly to Hinox and Link must attack their eye.
The Hinox is a recurring overworld miniboss in Tears of the Kingdom. Though there are close to zero differences from the ones in Breath of the Wild, you can now find them even deepest corners of the Depths. Hinoxes are giant cyclopses that can deal high damage by tossing objects, swiping, or even sitting on their enemies. They come in three different variants: regular red , Blue, and Black. No matter the color, their weak point is obvious: the single, big eye in the middle of their oversized heads. Fire an arrow at the eye and the Hinox will fall down and can be attacked easily without fear of taking damage.
Defeating Hinox may not be easy, but after you take them out, these creatures offer a variety of items that you can turn into weapons or use the monster parts they drop to enhance your gear. If you reliably want to obtain these parts, tracking down their locations is critical. The way you go about finding Hinox is relatively simple in TotK. Depending on their location, these creatures might be out in the open or hiding in caves. After you get close enough and wake them up, a health bar appears on the top part of the screen, and you can find these creatures as you would any other boss fight. If you encounter a Hinox in the Depths, it will be infested with Gloom and applies Gloom damage to you. When this happens, they will be momentarily stunned, giving you a few precious seconds to hit them with multiple attacks before they get back up. These are all of the known Hinox locations you can find in Tears of the Kingdom. There are different colored Hinox like every other creature in TotK, with red being the weakest and a black Hinox being the strongest, with the best monster parts.
