I thought the more costly ones where the ones with the "cape mistake" on the back of the box - but many of the cheaper ones that aren't selling also have the cape mistake. So if that were the value driver I feel like collectors would snatch those up as soon as they were listed, but that is not happening. The same crazy selling price range is true for the Millennium Princess Barbie. I would think that sellers of the higher priced ones would tell buyers why their doll is priced so much higher than others, but I am not seeing an explanation. I can't figure out what is going on. Many auctions ended with only one bid and "buy it now" dolls were sold to buyers who submitted offers for less than the asking price. Didn't most of them have the "error" photo on the back? The photo didn't seem to affect the price of the dolls. Made me wonder if it was a method to sell something illegal under the guise of just buying the doll I think it's from an article entitled "50 of the Most Expensive Barbies, Ranked" or something like that from the "FamilyMinded" site. It lists some of the Holiday Barbies, but gives no explanation as to what makes them so expensive. I don't know how legit or accurate the article is.

I'm new here. I would like to know if any Holiday Barbies have rare misprints that make them valuable. I think some of the 94, 97 and 98 ones have some misprints. You can check eBay they are usually under holiday Barbie error box. The 94 Barbie had green eyes and the picture on the box has brown eyes, the 97 one with the misprint has on the box it has blue eyes and the doll has green eyes. The 98 has something to do with the shawl. I'm not sure of how much monetary value to place on these. Some secondary market sellers recognize that they have misprints and will try to price them at hundreds or thousands of USD. There are a ton of misprints in s Barbie boxart, so much so that I wonder what Mattel was doing, since some of the errors can't be explained away with photoshopping, although I'm not sure how well one could edit photography in that time period.
