So I looked up the Grand Army of the Republic sorry I don't know how to link to pages on my phone and I realized that there was int 1. Then it occurred to me, how did the Republic keep control on certain planets with so few troopers, especially if those planets were already on the side of the separatists when the war started? Also what was the actual death toll, with all deaths not the Clones but civilian add well? During three seconds world war over 60 million people died in total, and that just in part of one world the clone wars operated in the entire galaxy, how did they manage with so little people since taking a somewhat decently populated planet would at least appear to be treated difficult of they didn't want to be taken over? In short my question is, how did the Republic manage to takeover planets and hold them off there were so few, how did they do it so quickly, and how did they lose so few? If someone could please link both the clone wars and the Grand Army of the Republic that would be very helpful.

During the Clone Wars, the clone army was deployed all over the galaxy, and Obi-Wan Kenobi exposes what happened to some of them after Order 66 and the fall of the Galactic Republic. They fought side-by-side with the Jedi, forming friendships and developing unique quirks, but ultimately, all clones were bound by a behavior modification biochip implanted by the Sith and forced to do the bidding of Palpatine. However, his views were not well received by the Jedi Council, and he was eventually cast out of it. Sensing an opportunity, the Sith ordered his death, and Darth Tyranus took over the project without the Kaminoans noticing. With the Sith in control of the cloning project, every clone got a biochip that guaranteed they would all follow Palpatine when the right time came. What happened to the clones after Order 66 was less important to Palpatine's plans but pretty tragic for the clones themselves. It was almost impossible for a clone to resist following Order 66, but their genetic code was also modified in other ways too. All clones were built to be less independent and aggressive than bounty hunter Jango Fett, their genetic template. Most importantly, the aging process of all clones except Boba Fett was greatly accelerated to ensure they would be ready for combat faster and constantly resupplying the army. Because of that, the clones eventually retired or died off shortly after the Clone Wars as depicted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars ended. Furthermore, as revealed in Obi-Wan Kenobi , some Clone Wars veterans even ended up abandoned in city streets, forgotten by the Empire, with no family to turn to. For the most part, what happened to the clones after Order 66 parallels the experience of many enlisted men after large-scale conflicts like WW1, WW2, and Vietnam. After Order 66 caused the deaths of Jedi all over the galaxy and Palpatine became the Emperor, the need for clone troopers greatly decreased. During the first years of Imperial rule, the clones acted as Stormtroopers , but eventually, cloning production halted, and the Empire began recruiting regular humans instead. Due to their accelerated growth, the remaining clones were deemed unfit for military duty and retired.

Star Wars ' Order 66 was the moment the clones turned on the Jedi, but some resisted Palpatine's order in both canon and Legends. Darth Sidious issued a single command, and all across the galaxy the Jedi were cut down. Star Wars canon has since added a new, even darker, dimension to Order 66; it has revealed the clones were implanted with inhibitor chips that forced them to obey and betray their generals. As compelling as Palpatine's command may have been, though, some clones resisted. This was true both in Legends and in canon, and some chose to help Jedi escape.

Also known as the Jedi Purge, Order 66 marked the tragic end of the Clone Wars while also laying the groundwork for Star Wars' original trilogy. The culmination of a Sith plot a millennium in the making, Order 66 was a protocol enacted by Chancellor Palpatine secretly Darth Sidious. Palpatine orchestrated both sides of the Clone Wars to bring forth the rise of his Empire and the end of the Jedi, and Order 66 was the masterstroke. Countless Jedi were taken completely by surprise with a galaxy-wide betrayal in the final days of the Clone Wars. Here's what happened after the issuing of Order 66 and how it affected the galaxy in its aftermath. Shortly after Anakin Skywalker was corrupted to the dark side as Sidious' new apprentice, Darth Vader, Palpatine sent transmissions to clone commanders across the galaxy. The Sith Lord issued the execution of Order 66, a highly classified protocol identifying all Jedi as traitors to the Republic. Across multiple battlefields, clones turned on their Jedi generals, murdering countless Jedi who had been serving on the front lines. Palpatine sent his new apprentice Anakin Skywalker - newly christened Darth Vader - in command of the st Legion.

The exact number of clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic is a point of some contention. The numbers given, both in the films and the Expanded Universe , seem far too small for a huge, galactic conflict like the Clone Wars.
