How to reset brake pad sensor on bmw
Remember Me? Front brake pad service reset. Hello, I have changed the front brake pads to the car without changing the wear sensor and it does not let me reset the service, it does not let me either from the hidden menu of the instrument panel, nor with the INSTA-D. Does anyone know how to reset it without having to change the wear sensor?
Remember Me? I wanted to avoid having to regularly replace the pad wear sensors on my car. So last time I changed pads I installed new sensors and simply tied them back off the pads. Despite this the status for the pads showed that they were wearing and I now get a 'pads need replacement' indication every time I start or stop the car. Additionally, the brake idiot light stays on permanently.

Remember Me? I recently changed the front and rear brake pads and sensors. I managed to delete the request to replace the front pads but for the back plates I fail. I tried with the handbrake applied and with it not pulled but I still can't reset it " it comes back with reset unsuccessful". I reset it by removing the sensor and putting a clip to make contact between the two wires. But when I insert the sensor the error reappears. I tried also another sensor but without success.
You hop into your BMW, insert the key into the ignition, and notice — uh oh, that dreaded brake warning light is glaring angrily on your dashboard. Resetting the BMW brake light is actually quite straightforward. If the brake pad warning light illuminates in your BMW, you likely need to reset the brake sensor rather than your brakes needing replacement. This cycles the sensor to turn the brake light back off. While other issues like brake fluid level or serious wear can activate the warning light, a basic reset will rule those potential causes out if the light returns. Insert your standard metal ignition key or wireless BMW key fob into the cylinder. Do not turn the key or start the engine. Next, with the key inserted, rotate it to Position 2. This is the position right before full ignition. Again, do not start the actual engine.

The brake pad warning light, also known as the brake wear indicator light, is a feature found in most modern BMWs designed to alert the driver when their brake pads are wearing thin BMWUSA. When this light is illuminated, it indicates that the brake pads have reached the minimum thickness recommended by the manufacturer and should be replaced as soon as possible.
