Hyllis

Perfect for flower pots on a balcony, hyllis, shampoos in a bathroom or exciting herbs in a kitchen.

I wanted to make a tutorial in english, due to traffic from Apartment Therapy after this Ikea hack appeared there. What we really wanted was to make a sort of build-in industrial shelving unit. A bit Pottery Barn-ish and maybe with a dash of Restoration Hardware. Super cheap, industrial looking for sure, but not very sturdy…. In order to get the shelves just as we wanted, we deceided to turn each shelf upside down and flip the actual shelves. That we had them just as we had invisioned them….

Perfect for flower pots on a balcony, shampoos in a bathroom or exciting herbs in a kitchen. Sturdy, lightweight and approved for wet areas. Can such a large shelving unit really fit in a flat package? Can be used both indoors and outdoors, and is just as suitable on the balcony as in the kitchen, hallway or bathroom. If you want a larger storage solution, you can combine several shelving units from the same series. The included plastic feet protect the floor against scratching. This shelf must be fastened to the wall; the back panel has predrilled holes to make it easier. Different wall materials require different types of fixing devices. Use fixing devices suitable for the walls in your home, sold separately. The material in this product may be recyclable. Please check the recycling rules in your community and if recycling facilities exist in your area. Wipe clean with a soft cloth dampened in water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap, if necessary. Width: 60 cm. Depth: 27 cm. Height: cm.

Cut each post in half to get two Install straight metal braces to the top and bottom posts to fix them together. Other than metal brackets, you can also use off-cuts from the posts for the height extension to join them together. Ucn shared this joining method over at Instructables. A few well placed screws should keep the pieces together.

One of my favorite hacks of all time. Any helpful advice for a newbie? The colour is wonderful!. Could you explain me in detail how did you treated the wooden boards? Now I know this, I will order some more as they are very good value for money. I am considering doing something similar with the ikea fjalkinge also metal, taller, and white. Also, what is the product name for the last layer of spray clear you used? Very hard to assemble I really regret it. All I would end up doing would be adding the wood pieces. Affordable, sturdy, easy Michelle Very affordable. I have been looking for something like this that was affordable. Thanks for sharing! Could you explain more about the shelves upside down? It is the uprights that are used upside down, not the shelves.

Happy June friends! My laundry room is pretty darn tiny and I needed all of the extra space that I could get.

Great idea, soon one in the netherlands! Hi, this is absolutely beautiful! Lol Great work! Do you think this would work as a tall shelf in a smaller space for example a closet? Very nice shelves! Cam over from Apartment Therapy…beautiful shelves and beautiful room! The planks sit perfectly still and dont pudge at all. How did you secure the top boards to the shelf? Took a bit to figure out how to tighten the screws so it all comes togeter. Package s : 1. I just bought the same one a few days ago! Pingback: Bedroom Makeover Updates smoorelovin. Affordable, sturdy, easy Michelle Very affordable. Great tutorial. The price was great and the assembly instructions seemed straight forward enough.
