The show follows the life of a teenage girl named Sydney Novak, played by Sophia Lillis, who is struggling to cope with the loss of her father, her sexuality, and her newly discovered supernatural abilities. As Sydney tries to cope with her grief and navigate her way through high school, things get even more complicated when she realizes that she has telekinetic powers. She can move objects with her mind, and this power grows stronger as she discovers her feelings for her best friend Dina, played by Sofia Bryant. As the show progresses, Sydney's powers become more difficult to control, and she begins to learn more about the mysterious source of her abilities. The discovery of her powers brings her into contact with Stanley Barber, played by Wyatt Oleff, a quirky and charming classmate who becomes Sydney's confidante and helps her to explore her powers and understand the implications that come with them.
