The International Federation of Sport Climbing IFSC is the international governing body for the sport of competition climbingwhich consists of the disciplines lead climbingboulderingand speed climbing, ifsc climbing. The IFSC describes itself as "the international federation responsible for all aspects of international competition climbing and is the final authority for all matters concerning international competition climbing". The athletes compete in three ifsc climbing lead, bouldering, and speed. The number of competitions and venues vary from year to year.

Ahead of the season, the International Federation of Sport Climbing has released a policy to prevent eating disorders among competition climbers. The policy, developed by scientific experts based on the findings of an International Olympic Committee, marks the first time any international federation has taken an active step to limit the pervasiveness of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport.
