I'm looking for a beginner-friendly 3d printer for my son. Is this a good buy and good 3d printer to start with? Has anyone tried this? Don't have experience personally with that model, but it does not look promising! With that budget, would recommend something tried and tested like an Ender 3. I don't want to be the one doing it all for him, I want him to learn it on his own :. Guess, I will guide him in the beginning if it's really difficult but even I have no experience in 3d printer.

I'd say check to make sure the belts are tight. Also check the pulleys on the motors, make sure they're not rotating around the motor shaft, rather than with it.
