My first Kindle lasted six years!

Just a quick note, apologize if this is already been addressed. So the solution for that is a quick rename to the file. That way the kindle will recognize the file and the "Update Kindle" option will be enable. I just tried this update, from the original file to changing the name like you stated and it still won't update. I've tried tech support and everything they told me to do didn't work. Any other suggestions?
