The "twists" that reveal characters to be villains were poorly written to the point that kinsou no vermeil genuinely couldn't have been more obvious if the author tried. She is a devil who has features of a succubus, though it is not yet known if she actually is one. She enters the story by being summoned by Alto Goldfield from a book that she was imprisoned in three centuries ago. She is considered powerful even by devil standards, able to destroy a city with a single attack if pushed hard enough. Vermeil is a tall, curvaceous woman with shoulder-length violet hair, deep vermilion eyes, horns, a spade-shaped tail, small fangs and pointy ears. She can conceal her non-human aspects at will so as to disguise herself as a human. She usually wears a short black one-piece dress.

When she was sealed into coma by Iolite during the bronze square exam arc, her past was shown to Alto by the remnant memory of Fatema. She talks with people with hints of suggestive themes that always create misunderstandings, much to Alto's uneasiness.
