It was fun to set up a tent, roast a few hot dogs, and call it a weekend. And while you may have enjoyed yourself as a kid, there may not have been enough of a long lasting wow factor for you to consider taking your own children back. After all, with so many other travel options these days something would really have to offer a wow factor to get your consideration. Well now is the time to take a new look at KOA Campgrounds and consider all they have to offer to the adventurous and budget savvy family who wants a weekend getaway that is sure to make lasting memories! We have been camping as a family at KOA for the last five years, and I am happy to share my review with you so you can take a new look at KOA too! For this review I am specifically discussing the Granger, Indiana location. Please note that all KOA Campground locations are independently owned and some of your amenity options may vary.

Our experience has not shown any of those to be necessarily true. When we first hit the road, KOA was not on our list of places to stay. Just looking at the prices for the campgrounds, we felt they were over-priced in comparison to other options. Our first experience at a KOA was not as campers. While we were in the Black Hills of South Dakota we got lucky and found that some friends were also in the area. The campground seemed nice enough. Just a few weeks later we found ourselves staying at a KOA and quickly learned that the reasons our friends give for liking KOAs are not always true.

You recognize the yellow shirts and signs when you drive on to the property. They are known for their friendly and helpful staff and diverse camping sites. KOA also embraces technology when it comes to quick and easy reservations and WiFi at the campground. They go through a point assessment each year. KOA prices vary depending on the individual campgrounds. The owners have expenses they have to cover for franchising the KOA name. They offer great amenities like pools, clean showers, and restrooms, which all require staff to keep them spotless.

Hours above shown for Central Time Zone. Pros, nice patio spot, bbq was great, pool spa area very nice, people great. Cons, spa needed to be much hotter and better filtered. Kids were in it and no enforcement, work out spot was appreciated b Nice KOA, easy to get around. Interior roads are a bit rough, so just take your time. Our site L1 has tree at the front left that made it tough for our 44' motorhome to make the turn without hitting We had no problems at all. The staff were friendly and helpful. People always working.

We needed stop near Denver and the best we could manage to find was a KOA that was on the outskirts. We are talking pocket change here for these activities. I think the guy who was initially checking me in was fairly new, though. We did manage to snag a couple of tomatoes though. We actually had a pretty fun stay at this campground, although I think that had much more to do with having family come visit with us. After all, it is! These have a parking space, and communal water and shared electricity. The kids love picking their deserts out and watching owner Patricia make them. Julie grew up making cross-country road trips, and has always loved to travel. When we arrived at the South Bend KOA, the gate guard directed Brandon to go ahead and park and sent me inside to check-in. As a freelance writer and marketer she realized as long as she had internet she could live anywhere!
