Once these questions were put to rest, the interview went on to touch on topics from across the current "Fall of X" storyline, ranging from the shocking deaths of the latest X-Men roster , to the marriage of Rogue and Gambit , to what lies ahead for Betsy Braddock. Captain Krakoa 's identity has officially been revealed, and the unveiling will send ripples of unrest throughout the Marvel Universe, beginning with Captain America. Steve Rogers manages to unmask the mysterious figure after an unsettling battle - only to see his own face looking back at him. The weapon, and Captain Krakoa's attack on Ben Ulrich, ultimately lead to another showdown between the villain and Steve Rogers. This time, Captain America prevails, although Captain Krakoa demonstrates such skill at handling his shield that removing the mask is barely necessary. Soon, two versions of Steve Rogers are staring each other down, along with two diametrically opposed agendas. The "new" version valued Hydra's priorities and adhered to them since childhood, eventually leading him to become a twisted version of Captain America acting as a Hydra sleeper agent. He carried out Hydra's plans far enough to begin turning the country into a fascist regime, but was eventually stopped by the combined efforts of Bucky Barnes, Kobik, and the real Steve Rogers by the conclusion of Secret Empire. It is unclear how Orchis resurrected the alternate Steve Rogers, but he's acted as the perfect puppet - just as he did for Red Skull. By serving as Captain Krakoa and recruiting mutants to his Mutant Liberation Front, he's furthering Orchis' agenda to paint the mutants as terrorists and threats. Orchis has already successfully trapped and scattered the mutants still alive, even going so far as to orchestrate Cyclops' impending trial and death sentence. Hydra Supreme working as Captain Krakoa allows them to go one step further. Orchis didn't just infiltrate the MLF, they grew its roots and manipulated it from the start.

Krakoa controls all of the very environment of the island mass, krakoa marvel, using plants and animals alike as an extension of itself.

How did it come into being? Is it sentient? And why are the X-Men living on it? Originally, it was thought to have been located near a nuclear bomb testing sight, and the radiation from it caused the ecosystem of the island to become a sentient hivemind, which was later proved to be false. Krakoa actually started out life as a bigger island, known as Okkara, which was attacked centuries ago by hoards of daemons, brought forth by an enemy wielding the Twilight Sword first mentioned in Dawn of X. The mutant Apocalypse and his original Horsemen fought off these daemons, but it proved impossible to defeat them. Instead, Apocalypse sealed the breach created by the Twilight Sword by cutting the island in two.

You've heard of Captain America, but in December, you'll meet Captain Krakoa - a new mutant superhero debuting in X-Men 6 from writer Gerry Duggan and artist Pepe Larraz, with a mission to protect the world from evil just like his American counterpart. But the debut of Captain Krakoa - whoever they are - also brings some controversy, as it seems as though not everyone on the newly-formed X-Men team is totally on board with the new superhero. Duggan sheds a bit of light on Captain Krakoa's mission, explaining that, like the new incarnation of the X-Men, Captain Krakoa is a hero for the whole world - not just mutantkind. What's interesting is, both Duggan and the solicitation text seem to be setting up a key mystery around the true identity of Captain Krakoa and what it will mean for the X-Men. Though Captain Krakoa's powers haven't been revealed, the cover of X-Men 6 apparently shows them in flight, while also depicting a well-built, apparently male character. Krakoa was part of a greater land called Okkara , but it was attacked by an enemy wielding the Twilight Sword , causing a horde of Daemons to spill forth unto Okkara, and splitting it into two beings; Krakoa and Arakko. Apocalypse and his First Horsemen fought a bloody war against the daemons. When it became clear that they could not win, Apocalypse sealed the breach, with Genesis, the First Horsemen and the other mutants of Okkara remaining on Arakko, which became trapped in the dimension of Amenth.
