L4d weapons
Left 4 Dead 2 has a lot of weapons. There are or-so firearms, a few throwable items, l4d weapons, and a bunch of melee weapons.
The Springfield Armory MA1 is the backup handgun for the survivors. A second one can be found randomly in-game and dual-wielded, though the second will lack an attached flashlight. Although they have some modern modifications added, like an extended thumb safety, beaver-tail grip safety, trigger with cutouts, checkered front strip, and Colt Commander ring-hammer, they keep the small and mediocre sights of the original MA1. These A1s hold 15 rounds in a single magazine even though they are modelled as standard single-stack magazines that, at most, hold 8 rounds of. As a low damaging, moderate DPS weapon, the A1 have an unlimited ammo reserve. The pump-action shotgun in the game seems to be modelled squarely from a High Standard Model K Riot Deluxe Model , but has the trigger guard of a Remington Model Shotgun and an Ithaca 37 magazine tube end.

Left 4 Dead 2 is a multiplayer survival horror first-person shooter developed by Valve Software, and the sequel to the Left 4 Dead. Set in the Southern United States during a zombie outbreak, players try to survive the outbreak by fighting their way through the horde, controlling one of the four survivors: Coach, Ellis, Nick, and Rochelle. Left 4 Dead 2 inherits much of the gameplay from its predecessor. In the regular campaign mode, up to four players must cooperate and fight their way through hordes of zombies to reach either a safe house at the end of a chapter or a rescue vehicle at the end of a campaign which is made up of chapters. Also added in these DLCs are ports of all campaigns from the original Left 4 Dead , featuring the original survivors but with the new enemy types and weapons from L4D2. Weapons in Left 4 Dead 2 function similarly to the first game, but many new weapons are added. Players can carry one secondary weapon and one primary weapon. Primary weapons include shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, as well as the M79 grenade launcher and the M60 machine gun. Secondary weapons have infinite reserve ammo, while primary weapons have limited reserve ammo and need to be resupplied with ammo piles; the M79 and the M60 are the exception as they cannot be resupplied, and are dropped when their ammo is used up. Aside from a few places with fixed item spawns, spawns of weapons and other equipment are generally randomized under an "AI Director" system, which determines the spawns of enemies and items to provide a continuously engaging experience.
This also means that if two Infected are positioned one behind another, l4d weapons, shooting at the first one will also damage the one behind it. Tier 2.
Ammo piles can be used to refill main weapon ammunition. The primary weapons in Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are divided into two classes or tiers. First-tier weapons also called Tier 1 weapons are restricted in choice, and available to all players at the start of any campaign. Second tier weapons also called Tier 2 weapons are relatively superior in combat effectiveness to Tier 1 weapons and are usually only found once players have partly or fully completed a Chapter. Melee combat differs between Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. In the former, melee is a simple violent "shove" on an Infected at arm's length distance using whatever Tier 1 or 2 weapon the player happens to be wielding at the time. Melee attacks can also be done using a Gas can or Propane tank if a player is carrying one of these items.
There are hordes of infected zombies intent on eating you alive in Left 4 Dead 2 and they are backed up by a range of horrible mutations with special powers. You have two weapon slots, a primary, a backup and then an additional slot for explosives. You can read more about the game in our Left 4 Dead 2 review. The chainsaw can do damage per second and it will mow through groups fast. The rest of the melee weapons are pretty similar and they do damage per hit. The katana and the axe have an added decapitation chance which makes them a little more desirable. Your default backup weapon in Left 4 Dead 2 is the pistol and you can pick up a second for dual wield. It is accurate but weak and given the chance I recommend you switch it for a melee weapon. You can only have one at a time and different guns are best employed for different situations.

Left 4 Dead 2. By kratos orione. Ultimately the choice of weapon depends on your playstyle do you like to play long-range support or prefer to rush? Can't part with that M4 sound mod? Regardless of which weapon you choose to specialize in, just know in advance that the L4D2 developers have done an extraordinary job of balancing weapons in this game so there is no such thing as a bad choice. Let it be known in advance that the majority of my time has been spent playing cooperative campaign modes, so this guide will be heavily focused on that area. I will add a little bit of my experience with versus at the end of the guide.

This is no longer the case in Left 4 Dead 2, as the character's heads no longer turn. You will drop these the moment you find just about any other primary weapon. Players can carry one secondary weapon and one primary weapon. Although they have some modern modifications added, like an extended thumb safety, beaver-tail grip safety, trigger with cutouts, checkered front strip, and Colt Commander ring-hammer, they keep the small and mediocre sights of the original MA1. When it comes to your early-campaign workhorse, there is nothing better than the classic Pump Action Shotgun and its more modern counterpart, the Chrome Shotgun. This is monstrously good, and it even puts the M60 to shame. The flashlight can easily be seen on the bottom of the Pistol. Interestingly, the M4 and pump-action "Rangemaster" in-game are the only weapons that have both an empty and partial reload animation. An Achievement called "Till it Goes Click" a reference to The Big Lebowski requires the player to mow down 25 infected with the M60 without letting go of the trigger. Special Tier. This is useful since a player can fire off a large volume of ammo from one weapon and then simply pick up a fresh weapon to get a full ammo resupply. Weapon damage inflicted with Incendiary ammo is affected by body part multipliers. The flashlight is a surefire way to disturb the Witch , as demonstrated in Left 4 Dead 's introduction cutscene. On a final note, weapons in L4D2 are not formally named in gameplay; names of weapons noted on this page are primarily sourced from weapon names as marked in Whitaker's gun shop a location visited in Dead Center chapter 2 , as well as some inferred names based on Source entity names. In the DLC campaign titled "The Sacrifice" , a stationary Browning M2 reused from the game's sequel can be found on the bridge at the end of the finale map.

Rather accurate as to how autoloaders are operated in reality, if the player empties their Benelli and immediately tries to fire the shotgun as it is being reloaded, there will be a delay with the player character stopping to rack the gun's bolt before they can fire. Dual Pistols make reloading take slightly longer, and incapacitated players take twice as long as normal to reload their pistols. Original Hunter , Smoker , Boomer :. For some bizarre reason, the M79 can also use a laser sight, even though it grants it with almost no benefit. Without looking down the scope, it has the highest automatic rate of fire out of all assault rifles. First-tier weapons also called Tier 1 weapons are restricted in choice, and available to all players at the start of any campaign. The time needed to spool up the barrels and start firing seems to be slightly decreased. Second tier weapons also called Tier 2 weapons are relatively superior in combat effectiveness to Tier 1 weapons and are usually only found once players have partly or fully completed a Chapter. If a crescendo triggers, then having one of these in your pocket can mince zombies for days. These are your go-to weapons when you start the game, and they both make the Uzi look a bit piddly. Bile Bomb Left 4 Dead 2 only. When a Survivor uses a mounted gun, they cannot move and can only fire in a fixed arc. Bill uses an M16A2 in the game's intro cinematic. The riot shield was fully modeled, animated and textured and can still be spawned in-game, both via the console and during custom campaigns, while the didgeridoo has a low-poly model, but no textures or animations. Because of the strict censorship in Germany and also in Australia and elsewhere in the world , Valve decided to add 4 Counter-Strike: Source weapons excluding the combat knife to those versions of the game as compensation.
