My son has built dozens of Lego creations over the years, and most of them end up in a bin or box when he's finished playing with them. But there are some builds that he's really proud of, and I'm always searching for ways to display them in his room. Some of these Lego display ideas double as work surfaces, so you don't have to gingerly move a delicate build to a new location. The Lego storage was out of control at our house a few years ago. We tried a few different legos storage options and finally landed on something that has worked great for us. If you have school-aged kiddos who love Legos or other small toys! My little boy has been into Legos for years and the amount of Lego sets that he has is a bit much. But, as parents, we have to love Legos for the imagination and building that happens with them. Up until recently, I didn't have a solution for the amount of Legos that we had. I knew that we needed some sort of better Legos organizer and it needed to also have a display shelf for Legos. There were more plastic bins in a few other places. Every year for his birthday and Christmas he asks for various Lego sets, and any time he has money to spend, he wants to spend it on — you guessed it! As you can probably imagine, he has quite the collection… he has been collecting them for around eight years, after all. And once he puts the sets together, he likes to leave them on display, so in recent years, Lego storage has become a huge problem. This summer, we made it a priority to create the perfect space for him to display his creations, and the result is perfection. He now has his very own not-so-little Lego museum! To create this space, we purchased an Ikea Billy Bookcase system that perfectly fit in the space. A few reasons why we love them….

Boo has all these different Lego sets and once they are built she likes to keep them that way. We needed some type of shelving that would keep them organized, but we also needed a way to store all of her loose Legos. This shelving set from Michaels has 16 different sections and ended up being the perfect solution:. We used to store Legos in plastic bins, put away in her closet, but the new narrow shelf is much more efficient. I ordered the bay shelf straight from Michaels. Important: if you have a young child be sure to secure the shelf to the wall to keep it from falling over should they attempt to climb it! We used fabric bins for some of the bottom shelves and they hold loose Lego pieces and all her assembly books.
