Doctors at southwestern Ontario's largest hospital are urging the public not to delay seeking medical care in an emergency room, after noticing a decline in emergency admissions since the coronavirus crisis began. On average, province-wide, emergency patients are waiting a mere one hour and 36 minutes to see a doctor in emergency departments as of Friday, according to the provincial website that tracks wait times at hospitals across Ontario. That's a stark contrast with June of , when average wait times for Ontario patients were about 10 times that amount, a record-setting 16 hours and 18 minutes, the highest average since the province began keeping track in Under normal circumstances, those same wait times for LHSC's Victoria and University campus would be 18 and 16 hours, respectively, according to provincial data. In fact, the wait times are so far below average at both hospitals that doctors seem to be growing worried, so much so, they issued a news release on Friday just to say the emergency department is still open.
