Rishi Sunak has been mocked on social media following his message of commiserations to the Lionesses. The Prime Minister took to Twitter in the aftermath of their World Cup final defeat to Spain which saw England fall at the final hurdle on the biggest stage of all. Sarina Wiegman's side battled heroically during the minutes that were played, with some possibly saying that the team left everything out on the pitch. However for Sunak, that metaphor got a little bit muddled as he attempted to send an encouraging message to the team. Sunak's mistake was always going to be picked up by football fans, many of whom took great joy in the chance to poke fun at the Prime Minister.
