Losp pine
This product is subject to global timber shortages. Please check with your local branch before ordering. It is a treatment that is normally a white spirit based solvent that provides protection from insects and decay, losp pine. This losp pine contains copper naphthenates and synthetic pyrethroids as well as other chemicals.
This premium pine is manufactured by finger jointing and laminate, and pre-primed for an almost perfect finish. It is also supplied in grooved fascia. LOSP is a type of treatment that contains white spirit and Copper Naphthenates with other chemicals to protect against insects or decay. LOSP contains a preservative that is safe for use around people including children, and pets. However, handling, sawing, sanding any timber materials can present some hazards when airborne particles are generated in the process of working with these items. See the EPA Working with and handling treated timber safely website for more information.

Builders and handy people around the country are often confused when it comes to outdoor treatment for timber. For decades, CCA was the preferred treatment type and easily recognizable by its karki green colour like the old round logs for retaining walls. Similar bans have also taken place in the EU and United States. This lead timber companies to look for alternative solutions for outdoor timber treatment. Today, Timberlink in partnership with our preservative partner Lonza has developed the next generation of outdoor timber treatment, Timberlink Green. A low odour LOSP based solution penetrates the timber, which is then guaranteed for 25 years for use in the above-ground outdoors. When treated with LOSP, your timber will remain more straight and stable in the harsh Australian outdoors. Timberlink Green has a superior appearance to others in the market as it is both machine graded for structural integrity and visually graded for good looks. Being manufactured to meet Australian standards, Timberlink Green is the original and the best low odour solution. Incredibly Timberlink Green has up to 30 times less odour than traditional LOSP formulations, and with a patent pending on this formulation it is unique compared to other solutions claiming low odour.

LOSP is a pre-primed timber product. It is not intended for use where the treated commodity comes into contact with the soil. LOSP-treated timber is produced in a dry state in its final form, and usually not cut or machined on the building site. LOSP is H3 treated and the active ingredients prevent decay and insect attack are usually carried in a white spirit solvent system. This can result in the treated timber having a residual smell but it will dissipate relatively quickly, especially in our warm climate. Skip to content.

We can supply a full range of treated products or treat timber supplied by you. LOSP H3 is an effective preservative formulation designed to provide a lasting protection for timber products used in external situations above ground. The formulation contains specialised fungicides for protection against fungal decay and an insecticide to provide lasting protection from termites and other timber boring insects. LOSP uses an organic solvent carrier to transport the active ingredients into the timber. This solvent does not saturate wood cells and causes little or no swelling during treatment. This means that the timber maintains its original size, shape and strength grading. LOSP treated timber requires no kiln drying after treatment as the solvent evaporates from the timber over time without additional kiln drying.

LOSP timber is often coated with a protective oil based primer, this is applied to stabilise and protect timber during storage and installation. If a large quantity is being stored or handled indoors, ensure adequate ventilation. Timberlink supplies both of these grades. Skip to content. LOSP timber must not go in the ground and if the timber is cut the ends the ends must be resealed with a suitable sealant. Can LOSP primed timber be used for internal building applications? LOSP is a pre-primed timber product. Being manufactured to meet Australian standards, Timberlink Green is the original and the best low odour solution. It is not a paint primer. Nails and Fixings.
The organic solvent takes the preservative into the wood and is drawn out in the last stages of treatment leaving the preservative in the wood. LOSP treatment not only protects timber from decay and insects in a long term, it also provides a great appearance function because of it leaving the light coloured appearance unchanged after treatment. Preservative treatment makes timber a more feasible material for constructions and other engineering applications, as it is able to offer timber structures resistance to decaying, insects and marine borer attacking while it also has the ability to extend the life of timber products.
It is not intended for use where the treated commodity comes into contact with the soil. Avoid inhaling wood dust and wear a filter mask while power sawing, machining, sanding or any operation where wood dust is generated. The timber will still weather and discolour if it is not stained or painted. This is because LOSP treated pine is generally machined to the required lengths and shaped before treatment is applied. This odour should disappear within a few days once the boards are open to the air. The treatment used in unprimed LOSP is clear and thus the timber is natural in its appearance. This penetration allows the solvent to protect the timber from moisture, termites and decay in the outdoors for 25 years. It does not approach me. There are other variants?
Rather curious topic
It is a pity, that now I can not express - it is very occupied. But I will be released - I will necessarily write that I think on this question.
