It started off life like any normal truck engine. Iron heads, small cam and the old SBC crank rear flange thickness. That changed in when GM threw in the bigger cam and aluminum heads designed for the LQ9. The LQ9 was introduced in for the Cadillac Escalade and was found in top-of-the-line trucks until It cranked out horsepower, had Because of their strength, these engines are likely to see a power-adder sooner than later.

Pac valve springs. I'm starting completely from scratch on the hotside. Forced Induction Superchargers Turbochargers Intercoolers. The usually get welded by I think its advanced induction but I am gonna see what the machine shop says about doing it. Received 2 Likes on 2 Posts. No one is going to make a kit since you have to take about 4" of tunnel out on each side. Funds have now officially run out for the build just in time for me to have almost all the parts, but no money to put it together. While it initially starts out cheap, there is a lot of wee parts that you need to complete the kit, which end up costing a lot more than you expect in the end. I'll be going this spring for a dyno tune and turning the boost up a bit so once that's all done I'll be getting some track times. I had previously ordered a Holley Hi-Ram intake for this build, but I realized that it would probably be too tall to fit under the stock hood. Will be primarily a street car. Some things you are better off to have done by the pro's with the correct equipment and ovens etc. Recommended Communities. We often talk about the lack of young people getting into the automotive industry, and specifically the engine building niche. However, Olivia Scaffidi is one example of the younger generation looking to do more engine building as she continues to learn the craft. I really enjoy that aspect of it.
The only thing I would ad is be careful. Stock one is surely far too flat, but I want maximum torque and low end grunt, grip isnt an issue. Recommended Communities. But if you want the engine to be a little more peppy I bet you could either mill those a little bit don't quote me on how well this works, I haven't done it , or you could get some 's to add a little compression.
