Prior to moving into management, Edwards enjoyed a year playing career as a defender. He moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in Edwards made appearances in four years at Wolves before joining Blackpool. During three seasons there, he became captain and helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League. After two more appearances in the top flight, he went on to play for Norwich City, Barnsley, Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury Town, retiring in During his career he was capped 15 times for Wales.
Luton Town have named ex-Watford boss Rob Edwards as their new manager on a "minimum three-and-a-half year" deal.
