Dragons are, arguably, the most famous, iconic and popular creature type in Magic. That alone made it extremely difficult to narrow this list down to just 10 of the best, let me tell you! There are so many Dragons that deserve to be included in a list of the all-time greats, but today I've done my best to select 10 representatives from the long and storied history of Magic's Dragons that best represent what they are all about. The original and the… well, certainly not the best, not by today's standards, anyway. There are stories from the early 90s about people trading handfuls of worthless moxen for a single copy of Shivan Dragon - so powerful, iconic and sought-after was this card. In the days of Cauldron Familiar and Witch's Oven , Korvold was a huge top-end threat that would end games more or less immediately, for those times that Mayhem Devil wasn't quite enough. He doesn't have much in the way of Dragon synergy, and so plays a quieter role in Dragon typal decks, but all the same - when built around properly, Korvold's power level is off the charts. Assuming you can build out even a semi-respectable board, Scourge of Valkas will consistently deal a huge amount of damage every turn. Being able to pick apart opposing boards or just burn down opponents with hefty blockers is very useful - such is the power of direct noncombat damage!
