Max Laughton is a Journalism graduate from Monash University, currently working as a digital content producer for Fox Footy. He sat down with us to talk about working in new media, the realities of the current Journalism climate and dealing with Facebook criticism. Well, in my last year at uni I did an internship at Fox Footy for 2 weeks. I really only got the internship because my dad had a contact, but once I was there I agreed to do pretty much anything that was asked of me and always offered to do more. At the end they hired me for an entry level role on the TV production side, which was really great because it made me realise I was there because of my skills, and not because of my connections. After 2 years of hard work and persistently reminding them that I was available for any opportunities I got a full time job doing what I do now.

Six pundits tipped Melbourne to claim the premiership cup — despite finishing fourth on the ladder at the end of the home and away season. Former Carlton star Eddie Betts predicted his side to win the flag from fifth and defeat Collingwood in the Grand Final to do it.
