Misato and kaji

I also liked the coupling of Misato and Kaji, who remain my two favorite characters from the series. The early episodes with Kaji largely portray him as smug and a womanizer. And early on, Misato seems completely in control in any and every situation. However, as the series progresses, the two depictions change โ Kaji is more heroic and loving and Misato is more lost and unsure. The truth is, neither character is what they seem at first. But in terms of the world depicted in the show, Kaji knows from the beginning who Misato really is.
Misato and kaji
He is employed by NERV as a special inspector. Kaji appears to be a triple agent, working as a special inspector for NERV, while secretly investigating the organization for the Japanese Ministry of the Interior, and at times seemingly acting as a cat's-paw both for and against Gendo Ikari and SEELE. In addition, he seems to maintain personal motivations beyond loyalty to any organization, and speaks frequently of his desire to "find the truth. Kaji and Misato Katsuragi were lovers during college, but they had long since broken up by the start of the series and do not see each other again until she flies out to the UN fleet ferrying Unit and Asuka Langley Sohryu to Japan. Most of the time, Kaji is very easygoing and jovial, always remaining cool and composed and maintaining his detached sense of humor even during times of crisis. He also flirts unabashedly with his female peers and coworkers, which further draws Misato's ire. Despite his irresponsible public persona, Kaji demonstrates a great level of personal responsibility and worldly wisdom in his personal interactions. He acts as something of a father figure to both Asuka and Shinji Ikari , particularly the latter. Asuka is openly infatuated with him, something he coolly and repeatedly deflects. A common interpretation is to see Kaji as Shinji's positive adult mirror, with Gendo as a more negative model.

In the eponymous anime television series , Misato is head of the operations department of the special agency Nerv, and is in charge of directing and devising war strategies needed to defeat mysterious beings named Angels. Due to childhood emotional traumas, she developed a frivolous, exuberant character and a disordered lifestyle. The character also appears in the franchise's animated feature films and related media, including video games , the original net animation Petit Eva: Evangelion School , the Rebuild of Evangelion films, and the manga adaptation by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. For the creation of the character, Neon Genesis Evangelion director Hideaki Anno took inspiration from his personality. Misato is also inspired by several real-life figures and other anime characters, including Usagi Tsukino from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. Critics have drawn parallels between Misato's characterization and concepts of philosophers and psychologists such as Carl Gustav Jung , Arthur Schopenhauer , and Friedrich Nietzsche ; Misato's feelings for her father have been linked to Jung's Electra complex , her personal philosophy to Schopenhauer's hedgehog dilemma , and her psychology to the Dionysian spirit postulated by Nietzsche.
The series is set fifteen years after a worldwide cataclysm known as Second Impact and is mostly set in the futuristic, fortified city of Tokyo The series' protagonist is Shinji Ikari , a teenage boy who is recruited by his father Gendo into the special military organization Nerv to pilot a gigantic, bio-mechanical mecha named Evangelion into combat with beings called Angels. In the course of the episode, the agent Ryoji Kaji conducts investigations into an institute called Marduk and gathers together with his Nerv colleagues Ritsuko Akagi and Misato Katsuragi for a party. After the party, Misato, Ryoji's ex-girlfriend, confesses to him the real reason why she left him years before. Meanwhile, Shinji meets his father to visit the grave of his mother, Yui , and kisses fellow pilot Asuka Langley Soryu. According to screenwriter Satsukawa, "Those women longed for the touch of others' lips, and thus invited their kisses" is the Neon Genesis Evangelion episode in which his personality is most reflected. During the episode, entirely focused on the relationships of the characters and devoid of action scenes, use is made of religious symbolism and music outside the original soundtrack of the series, including Johann Sebastian Bach 's " Suite for Cello Solo No. Some reviewers criticized the script, the interpretation of Kotono Mitsuishi , Misato's voice actress, the music and Asuka's behavior. Other reviewers appreciated the kiss between Shinji and Asuka and the one between Misato and Kaji, praising the religious symbolism and the focus on the relationships between the protagonists.

This freaked her out, leading her to end the relationship - Kaji's inability to commit was probably a more acceptable excuse to herself and him than, "Doing it with you was like letting my inner Elektra out to play! But in any case, they are the heroes of this story. It is also popular with AsuShin shippers due to the close parallels both relationships have with one another, as they might even argue Kaji played "matchmaker" for them, often being featured in fanfics that are primarily Asushin, though it is not popular as with ReiShin or KawoShin shippers, even though those don't dislike it too often. This is purely an optional take on things but makes sense seeing as she cites her reason for leaving as he reminded her of her father rather than any commital reasons. Kadokawa Shoten.
