Mission to mars omega swatch
Everyone has a story of "the one that got away.
With all that being said, I did manage to get my hands on a MoonSwatch. The Mission to Mars is one of my favorite MoonSwatches. Only the Mission to the Moon and the Mission to Neptune which sells at an insane 5x premium would be above it on my list. Being a New Yorker, and having access to 3 Swatch stores in close proximity to my office and apartment, you might expect me to have gotten lucky and been able to walk out of the store with a shiny new MoonSwatch on my wrist. Well I tried. I tried prodding the sales associate for more information about when restocking normally happened but was told it was all random. So close.

Additionally, despite using typically bright Super-LumiNova, the applications seem to be quite thin.

The Omega X Swatch Speemaster MoonSwatch has been out for a few months and these timepieces are still as hard to find at Swatch Stores as they were at launch and still not available online. Watch enthusiasts are still all-in on the unprecedented collaboration between two Swatch Group stalwarts, the luxury brand Omega and the more affordable Swatch. Read through why we prefer certain models over others and let us know if you agree. I might get some flack for not putting the Mission to the Moon first on our MoonSwatch rankings but hear me out. The Mission to Neptune, however, comes in a light blue bioceramic material case which is a proprietary mixture of plastic and ceramic , which is contrasted by the dark blue dial and bezel. The dark blue mixed with the white hands and indices gives the watch a unique, yet not overwhelming, look. Not to mention the market seems to agree.

Omega and Swatch and took the watch world by storm in by releasing a collaboration. It came as a total surprise and quickly became one of the most globally talked about products. When I first saw the teaser images, leaks and then the release, I could not have been more excited! It is one of the coolest ideas I have seen in recent years. I was on holiday at the time and fortunate enough to be near a store for release day. However, I did not manage to purchase one at launch like many other disappointed enthusiasts. Since then I have managed to purchase the Mission to Jupiter model that I bought it from a colleague who managed to get his hands on it. Given the levels of coverage over the last few months, I will only touch on the basics so we can focus more on the other aspects of it. Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch is available in 11 variations.

Swatch does not disclose the movement type in the Moonswatch. Company VAT. The Moonswatch really does do a good job of mimicking the Speedmaster. Cart 0. Please note, comments need to be approved before they are published. I found this to be a really fun touch. When I walked into the Swatch store and asked if they had any Moonswatches available, lucky for me, the Mission to Mars was one of the available models! Well I tried. The one and only time that I saw one in person sealed the deal for me, I wanted one. Although it has three recessed subdials, it does not have the same dial layout as a real Speedmaster. The color combinations with different planets and other celestial bodies is a great concept. So I finally gave in. I knew that I would get one eventually if I was patient.

Typically I don't buy homages, as they leave one wanting the real thing even more. All Moonswatch Mission versions have a clever graphic depicting their corresponding celestial body applied to the battery cover. The lyre lugs, tachy bezel, and domed crystal are all there. This gives you plenty of options if you want to outfit your watch with something different. I expected it to feel more like other ceramic watches, but its Bioceramic case feels more bio- than -ceramic, meaning that it doesn't feel much nicer than a plastic watch. Well I tried. My biggest gripe about is is that it is visually a bit bulky on the bottom side of your wrist where the loop sits. Its inspiration clearly came from the Alaska Project, and it contained all of the great traits that made the Alaska special: spacecraft hands, crisp white dial, and white velcro strap. Having lume on the chronograph hands is a fun touch that is not present on other versions of the Moonswatch. It has similar black and red text and a red loop like the original. So can it help offset the sting if not having the Alaska Project? Its case is even bright red, mimicking the Alaska's protective case. I think Swatch did a really nice job with the different colorways each corresponding to a different celestial body. The lume is not as bright as other watches that I own, but it's still legible once your eyes adjust to the darkness. When I saw it in photos, I fell in love with its crisp white dial, and funky chronograph hands immediately.
I regret, that I can not participate in discussion now. It is not enough information. But this theme me very much interests.
