Monsoon is the fourth boss of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. He is quick, mean, and will destroy you if you are not yet comfortable with parrying. Although he is known for his pre-fight speech on how "memes are the DNA of the soul," his battle shoves that light-hearted mood out of the way and gets down to business. While Monsoon's fight marks a difficulty spike in Revengeance, he is not unbeatable.

However Raiden admitted that Monsoon was right, regressing back into his Jack the Ripper persona, and said he was born to kill. Thankfully, the moves he doesn't have, in addition to the refight having less health, lower defense, and the smaller fighting arena make the refight much less tedious. In addition, the generator was powerful enough to even allow Monsoon to lift even huge objects like Stryker APCs and Hammerhead gunships in the air to hurl at Raiden. I hope you don't, because during this phase, trying to do so will have him flip you over his shoulder and insult you, along with a nasty chunk of your health disappearing. His body was not unique from other cyborg bodies as his was still susceptible to EMP grenades, and a direct strike at the extended generator would instantly cut him off from his electromagnetic abilites, also stunning him briefly though he can reactivate his electromagnetic abilities again once he had recovered from the initial blast at any given time.
