Whenever a new installment of a series like Monster Hunter comes out, an age-old fan question usually rears its head: Which one is better? One way to determine this could be to look at the Metacritic ratings of the games in question. That's far from a decisive victory, however, and only a small part of a much bigger picture. Both are good options, I would vote for World with Iceborne mainly because it already has all the content ready, and for Rise with sunbreak there are still at least 3 or 4 months left to have all the updates. You can't go wrong with either though.

Rise does have some nice changes like mounts but I hate how they made the combat feel like an anime version of MH. Monster Hunter World made the series more accessible in several ways. It's got better level designs than rise switch limitations har har and has more stuff to do.

Nevertheless, the versatility and smaller size of the Nintendo Switch make Monster Hunter Rise a much easier choice for which one is best to play while on the go. First off, why not both?

World is good, but I went back to world after Rise and it felt so sluggish and outdated. Never settle for mediocrity. Monsters have massive health pools and you will be doing minuscule damage. Don't buy Rise. PS5 Loli games should all be banned. The series has been running for almost 20 years now, and it was niche until World came out.
