Character creation in Morrowind can change a good deal if you use the Morrowind:Rebirth mod , which among other things aims to re-balance character creation. The whole point of that is to make more of the character options in the game viable, thus reducing the use of character creation guides like the one you see on this site. The first thing to note, however, is that changing character creation is an entirely optional part of the mod. You can simply disable the relevant. For spellcasters, Breton race and Apprentice is still my no. Likewise, Redguards or Nords are still my preferred warrior-archetype races. Sneaking and, especially, pickpocketing is hard at the best of times in Morrowind, but the Chameleon spell effect that Bosmer race now gives immediate access to, is a really powerful way to stealth better.

This page contains multiple custom character templates that I have created for Morrowind. I created this page to help new players choose the right skills for the sort of class they'd like to play. Not everyone has the time or patience to do hours of research before starting the game so hopefully this page will give people a decent cookie cutter template for the type of class they want to play. On this page you'll find a total of 7 different custom characters. I did my best to think up templates for each of the most popular classes in RPGs along with the most powerful classes you can make in Morrowind. My personal choice for the most overpowered classes on this page are Artificer, Warlock and Ranger. All 3 of these classes use cheap ingame mechanics to be OP though -- you may want to play more legitimately. Each of the templates on this page will have two sections of skills called Changeable and Optional. As for the Optional Skills - they're skills that aren't required at all for the class but I chose them because I like them. I call special attention to these two categories of skills because they will give you some leeway when creating your character if you'd like to change a few things up and make it your own. Changeable Skills: If you don't like the Weapon Skills, Armor skills or whatever else I chose you can swap to a different one -- only if they are listed here Optional Skills: These are skills I personally chose because I like them. If you do not like them you can choose something else.
The Ranger is one of my favorite classes in games so I decided to recreate one in Morrowind.
Character creation starts as you step off the boat in Morrowind. The process is fairly long and complicated, consisting of 10 possible races, 13 star signs to be born under, and 22 available classes to choose from, including a completely custom class you can build from scratch. And that's not even delving into the slew of character skills and attributes that will come into play. If you need help sorting out your identity before embarking on your adventures as the Nerevarine across Morrowind, we've got you covered with explanations of all the character-building elements. As soon as you set foot on the docks in Morrowind, you will be asked about your race and gender. Your race will determine any special skills, and class predilections you may inherit, along with inborn attributes and skill bonuses.
When you begin the game, you'll probably have some difficulty killing some pretty weak enemies. Most of your stats are going to be pretty low, and if you want to level up quickly you've got some options. The way leveling up works is simply by repetitive and successful use of your skills. Successfully hit your opponent with your saber and gain some experience for your long blade skill. If you chose acrobatics and athletics as major or minor skills as I suggested, you're in luck. To level up your acrobatics , simply jump around everywhere - it may seem silly, but every jump builds you up towards another level. When you first begin, leveling up your acrobatics will be a cinch. If you're anywhere where you're sure you aren't going to get into a fight, there's no reason not to jump - even while your fatigue is drained, you'll still build up towards new levels. And for leveling up your athletics , you'll have to get a little dirtier.

While both of these signs can be incredibly powerful with shortcomings that can be easily compensated, they're probably not for beginners. With all that said, this class is still completely functional and as you level up it becomes much more powerful. Analysis: Another race distinguished mostly by its skills, Imperial characters focus on interpersonal stealth-type skills and are the only race with bonuses to Speechcraft and Mercantile. Classes determine further specializations for your character and truly begin to hone in on your preferred playstyle, so choose wisely. Leave a Comment. Having both Enchant and Restoration is a bit overkill but I use both of them to keep myself alive. Comment by Oz — July 1, Reply. Speed plays a role in every major playstyle. For spellcasters, Breton race and Apprentice is still my no. For your " Major Skills ," always add Heavy Armor and Long Blade, as most of the powerful gear in the game fall into these categories.
In Morrowind, every humanoid character has a class , including your character and all NPCs. A character's class reflects their occupation, their position in society, or simply what sorts of things they are good at.
It holds sway over Acrobatics as well, which is a skill honed by many stealth classes. Perhaps Spear could be selected on a build or two. During the early levels before you start making a lot of money you won't be able to keep up with the septim cost of so many potions. On your 'dabbler build', I'd be tempted to swap Enchant for Restoration. Icehair's Stuff. Willpower is a solely magic-based attribute. Character creation in Morrowind can change a good deal if you use the Morrowind:Rebirth mod , which among other things aims to re-balance character creation. Except from a very few special magical artifacts, race and birthsign are your only ways to boost your maximum magicka pool. However, it's somewhat useful for a Rogue since we will need to 'Taunt' some enemies into attacking us and bribe enemies to raise their disposition. For your " Minor Skills ," always take the remaining schools of magic that you didn't pick as Major Skills. When I think of Paladin I typically think of a class that specializes in survivability over damage and that's the same approach I took when I designed this one. For your " Minor Skills ," you can pretty much add anything that sounds interesting to you. Doctor Who comes to mind. Comment by Oz — July 1, Reply.
