Mumsnet legal matters
Thanks in advance! I then looked at the individual profiles, mumsnet legal matters, I was looking for family law specialisation, female, plenty of experience so olderand finally someone who was a partner in the practice.
I have also posted this in legal matters but thought Id also put it here for all to see. I've been stressing for over a month. My ex is taking me to court to try to get a shared residency order for our ds.. He is receiving legal aid due to the benefits he is on. I on the other hand could not get legal aid due to the fact I owned a house and worked plus rented a room out in my house.

My solicitor told me that up until now I have been receiving legal help, which later becomes legal aid. How are the two things different? I hadn't heard of legal help before now, only legal aid. As far as I am aware having been out of practice for many years legal help replaced the Green Form. The Green Form was a document you signed when you first consulted your solicitor which enabled the solicitor to conduct a certain amount of work on your behalf before having to apply for legal aid. Normally you could have an initial interview and some basic work done, up to a maximum amount of time, on Green Form. Then you would have to apply for full legal aid to continue acting for that client. I think that legal help is what the old Green Form covered. You may well find that you are entitled to legal aid, but with a contribution from you as you are working. In fact, legal aid isn't even called legal aid any more, but a lot of solicitors still use the term because that is what the public recognises. Thanks, Freckle, that makes it all a bit clearer.

Hi I am new. I have children 2 4 6 and 8 that have been snatched by their father. I have posted in the legal matters page if anyone could advise me? All I want is my children returned. Are they out of the country?

But I need to prove it for him to listen to me, and that may not change his mind. Makes me so sad for him and for us as a family. Maybe you should try posting it in chat or relationships. Might get a better response there. I think you need to post what the injury claim was. And how was this "family" member involved? No one can help unless you do.
