Izuku Midoriya works hard to become the greatest hero he can be in My Hero Academia. Although he began with nothing, Midoriya is finally granted a power and trains diligently to not just match his peers, but surpass them. Because of Midoriya's extreme determination and inherent heroic spirit, he has become the center of the show's most iconic moments. Midoriya stands out in My Hero Academia because of his dedication to helping people at all costs. Even when the odds are stacked against him, Midoriya jumps into danger without a second thought if it means rescuing someone in need. His countless heroic actions and the milestones he hits on his journey to be the best allow Midoriya to have many iconic moments. However, what he didn't know is that he would eventually be able to access the consciousnesses of the former holders through dream-like sequences. The first incident of this, though terrifying, saw Deku being surrounded and silenced by a thick dark fog when a figure finally appears. Daigoro Banjo approaches and tells Midoriya that he has unlocked his Blackwhip power and that the others are coming. The scene is unsettling and ethereal but marks the first time Deku has spoken to any of the former users other than All Might, helping Midoriya to not feel so alone. When Shigaraki and the Paranormal Liberation Front decimate an entire city and kill or wound several Pro Heroes, Deku takes things into his own hands and confronts Shigaraki directly. The aftermath of the fight shows a lot of heartbreak, which pushes Midoriya toward a darker side. Midoriya becomes a vigilante version of his hero persona. He doesn't stop to rest or clean up. His only concern is saving everyone he can by himself so that he doesn't risk anyone else's lives.
