This page provides an overview of all the magical effects available oblivion spell effects Oblivion. In most cases, these effects are used in a number of different ways - for example, to make spells, potions or poisons, or enchanted items. Certain magical effects may have limitations to their use; others may not be available to the player at all, oblivion spell effects.
Like your inventory screen, your spell screen is divided into categories. On all screens the first column the one with the icons tells you which school a particular spell belongs to and usually can identify a spell effect within that school. For example, a Frost-based Destruction spell will have a little snowflake inside the icon. The middle column is the name of the spell and the right column tells you how many magicka points it will require to cast the spell. That number appears to decrease as the skill level in the appropriate school increases. The jury is still out with the final word on that issue, but that's the way it's looking at the moment. If you put your cursor on top of the spell, you'll get a pop-out on the right side that will tell you the magnitude, duration, range and school of the spell.

The Base Cost values in this table can be used to determine the base cost of spells in the game, using the equation provided on the Spell Making page. Note, however, that a few built-in spells have arbitrary base costs that are not derived in this manner. The Barter Factor is the increase a Constant Effect enchantment gives to an object's value per magnitude of the effect. The ability to create custom spells is one of the most powerful perks acquired by joining the Mages Guild. However, it is also available to those who have the Frostcrag Spire plug-in, after purchasing the Magetallow Candles altar upgrade. By using the Altar of Spellmaking , one is able to combine learned magical effects into custom spells, choosing range on Self, on Touch, or on Target , area of effect if appropriate , magnitude, and duration. These determine what is needed to create and use the spell: the minimum skill level required to cast, the spell's on-use Magicka cost, and the price in gold to create it. If M, D, or A is less than 1, a value of 1 should be used. The Magicka cost is further multiplied by 1. Base Cost is as defined in the construction set. Weakness does not influence any Damage effects that are included in the same spell. In other words, you must cast a Weakness spell first, then follow it up with a Damage spell to get the increased damage due to the Weakness effect.
