Octopath Traveler 2 builds on the original with better visuals, more character interactions, and also more amazing new music from Yasunori Nishiki. This week, Square Enix released a demo on all platforms including Steam. I will also cover how the demo plays on Steam Deck. It does support video capture unlike the original game. Octopath Traveler 2 on PS5 looks gorgeous. It feels amazing, and is better than the HD Rumble implementation which is already great. The PS5 version also has a lot better post-processing, better texture filtering, and looks plainly much better.

Octopath Traveler might have started out life as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, but less than a year after its release, it has become available on the PC. Armed with a full settings menu, this is the first time we've seen the game pushed to 60fps - and in doing so, sidestepping the frame-pacing issue on Switch. As silly as some may find this comparison video, others might still be interested to hear about the changes and differences between the two versions - even if the PC release is considered to be the "definitive" take.
