The existing setup is a standard door bell that has a cable that runs from the outside door bell into a Friedland type 6 chime and then a cable from that to the low voltage transformer next to the main fuse box. The transformer then goes into the main fuse box. The chime has 4 terminals labelled 0, T3, 1R and F2. I have traced the wires and the ones coming direct from the transformer are going to 0 and T3. The wire that comes out of the chime and goes off to the outside doorbell are on 0 and F2 so 1R has no wire connected at all and 0 has two, 1 from the transformer and 1 to the outside doorbell. So where do I put the connector block that came with it and what wires go what side? Photo attached of how it is now before the ring install.

Install the app. At least it did not fry. Message 3 of StephenB, thank you for all of your assistance. There are no connections that could be jumped without the wires being outside the transformer cover. Message 11 of So, maybe I should try the slightly larger transformer first. I found many posts from and Thanks Flameport, your advice has been really helpful. Turn on suggestions. I have seen transformer outputs exceed the rating before, but I agree that this amount seems odd. I happen to be an electrical engineer, but the absence of circuit diagrams has made this difficult to understand. Yes, I checked at the transformer terminals also … Electrics UK.
