This magazine-style show tackles current affairs and other issues in the UK using a mix of interviews, topical one show guests tonight and features. The One Show is a British television magazine and chat show programme. Broadcast live on BBC One weekdays at pm, it features topical stories and studio guests. Various reporters also assist with subject-specific presenting, both in the studio and on location, or through filmed segments. Launched with a pilot series in , leading to a full series from , it has had various previous permanent and temporary hosts. After initial low ratings, the partnership of Adrian Chiles and Christine Lampard from to has been credited with boosting ratings and establishing the show as a popular staple of British viewing. The programme is usually 30 minutes long, although it is occasionally extended to an hour. The One Show has announced two new presenters in a green sofa line-up shake-up. Fan-favourite Lauren Laverne is joining the popular BBC programme more regularly and radio presenter Roman Kemp is also joining the star-studded roster. The I'm A Celebrity It has been missing from schedules since early August, with viewers bereft after its usual 7pm slot was filled with episodes of Rip Off Britain, which sees Angela Rippon, Julia Somerville and Gloria Hunniford investigate money issues and help people hit by scams at home and abroad. Alex signed off from The One Show on August 4, as she announced it would be taking an extended break. Seemingly, in a hint to her new co-host, she added: "But in the meantime, look out for Roman here, on a brand new quiz show called The Finish Line, coming soon to BBC. Have a lovely summer, bye. The Finish Line, which started on Monday, sees five contestants battle against each other for the chance to win a cash prize. Roman, who is the son of Spandau Ballet legend Martin Kemp, said co-hosting the show was "a massive moment in my career". Alex's announcement came just after Gethin Jones revealed the BBC breakfast show Morning Live would also be taking a brief hiatus from schedules over the summer, telling viewers it was "bye for now" as they headed off air.
