These are referred to as Hangout Spots, and they're useful in collecting room decorations and gaining Confidant points. Hangout Spots are optional areas that you can go to in Persona 5. Bringing a friend to a specific spot can help increase your bond with them which will allow you to level up their confidant rank. Unlike the main hubs of Persona 5, most spots can't be accessed alone and you can only go to most of them by inviting a friend. Hangout spots can also offer you specific luxuries such as rare books, fishing, and the ability to relearn past skills for your Personas.
