Petite stitchery

Guess what?! The Taffy Dress is officially released! I absolutely love the drop waist of this dress.

Whew… I cannot believe that it is already November!!! The end of the year is here and while this year has been pretty incredible, sis is ready for a break from it all. But before we do that, I think we should celebrate this month by declaring it new sewing pattern November. And yes, this post is going live a week into November because my husband and I were caught up in some mysterious sickness last week so I did absolutely nothing. There are a couple of new things that I need for myself—pants, tops, everything.

I was able to test out one of the newest patterns for Petite Stitchery that released this week in their unwind collection. I tested out both the girls and babies for the cutest matchy sleep sets for my girls! The Thistle includes SO many options to create the ultimate sleep capsule that are perfect for warm summer nights! You can choose from a shorts romper, shorts and tank set or nightgown. There is an optional placket on all options and ruffle as well. The tank comes in regular or crop length and nightgown in dress or maxi length. The baby sizing runs from newborn to 24 months and the girls sizing runs from 2T to The Petite Eye Mask is a fantastic freebie that released as well that we added to our sleep capsule. This mask is available in adult, child and doll sizing and has a traditional or cat ear shape. As you can see from my capsule lay outs above I went a little extra sewing these up! For Eliana I sewed the baby pattern in 18 month width mashed with 24 month length. For Ava I sewed the girls pattern in size 7 width mashed with 12 length. I chose ruffled and plain separates for her as well as a plain nightgown and the sleep mask. All pajama solid fabrics used were cotton lycra from Purple Seamstress , the tiger stripes are an oooooold fabric from Girl Charlee in jersey knit and the giraffe floral is from Mabel Madison who has since closed in cotton lycra.

I tested out both the girls and babies for the cutest matchy sleep sets for my girls! I absolutely love the petite stitchery we picked and loved bringing each vision to life, petite stitchery. We even had some visitors from a few ducks!

My family does themed Halloween costumes every year and our kids wanted to be mythical woodland creatures this year! I am so excited to share these makes with you all! I absolutely love the theme we picked and loved bringing each vision to life. We chose pixies, dragons and unicorns as the creatures they wanted to dress up as. First, my youngest is four years old and currently obsessed with all things unicorns, magical, fancy and glittery. She decided to be our unicorn of the group. I knew that the Juliet leotard from Petite Stitchery would be the perfect base for her costume.

Mixing patterns and bold colors is my style aphrodisiac. Jessica is a stunning brunette and I love her ability to mix trends with some gorgeous classic pieces. She also covers a lot of health and fitness on her blog with her regular Workout Wednesday posts. She makes wearing bell-bottomed jeans look easy and wears the 70s trend beautifully. My 9 to 5 job involves wearing a uniform which leaves very little room for sartorial expression!

St Petersburg stitch is something that I learnt before and then promptly forgot, much to my chargrin. So this time, I have drawn up a simple pictorial. This helps to understand and remember the construction of the St Petersburg stitch. Once you get the basic construction of St Petersburg stitch, then the variations you can ply on them will be pretty endless. Here are some samples.

I knew that the Juliet leotard from Petite Stitchery would be the perfect base for her costume. This resulted in a really fluffy tutu and was exactly the look we were going for.
